Scone Aero Club operates from Scone airport with its own Licensed Club Room, training rooms & Hangar. The Hangar is currently home to 2 Aeroprakt A22 Foxbats, including the 5357 Foxbat which the club uses for RAA flight training.
Come join us for drinks and nibbles at the Scone Aero Club every Friday afternoon. The bar opens at 4.30pm and will ensure the atmosphere is warm and the beverages are cold.
Every Saturday morning we have Tea or Coffee and Scones (kindly freshly baked by Jan Haggarty). Bring your family members if you wish. On the third Saturday of the month we have a BBQ.
Once a month is Meal Night. Ring Suzanne Henderson on 0417 678 217 for details. Bring a friend and support.
Flight training and Trial Introductory Flights (TIFs) are by appointment. Visit our training page for more information, or contact us to arrange a flying schedule.
Scone Aero Club offers both Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) training and General Aviation (GA) training. If you’re
thinking about becoming a pilot, the first step is to organize a Trial Introductory Flight (TIF) with one of our instructors.
The first step is to get yourself in the air with a Trial Introductory Flight (TIF). This is when you meet your instructor and get a feel for what’s involved in becoming a pilot. At $90 for a 30 minute flight, they also make a great gift idea! To organize a TIF please contact us.
The fastest growing sector of aviation is undoubtedly RAA. This is where most new pilots choose to begin their flight training experience. Minimum age is 14 to commence training, and 15 to fly solo in the training area. No medicals are required, however you’ll need to be fit enough to hold an Australian driver’s license. To achieve an RAA license generally takes 20 to 30 hours of flying. For more information contact us.
For those who want to fly bigger planes, carry more passengers, or need a stepping stone to becoming a commercial pilot, a GA license may be preferred. For more information on GA training contact us.
Membership to Scone Aero Club is $44 per year for a full flying member and $22 per year for a social member.
