RAAus TRAINING
To gain your RAAus Pilot Certificate you will need to complete a minimum of 20 hours flying time of which some will be Solo, depending on your proficiency. It may be necessary to do more hours than this, however, generally this is not the case.
There are no medicals required, although you must be of a health & fitness standard that would allow you to hold a motor vehicle drivers licence.
Minimum age to commence training is 14. Minimum age to fly solo in training area is 15. Minimum age to gain Pilot Certificate & hold passenger, Radio & Cross Country endorsements is 16.
Passenger endorsement is 10 hours Solo which can be accrued during your 20 hours min. training.
Radio endorsement training is included in your flying training time.
Cross Country endorsement is minimum 10 hours, of which a minimum of 2 hours will be solo, plus flight test with CFI.
Pilot Certificate & all endorsements require a written test (multiple choice) as well as a flight test with CFI.
Current training costs in the Club's Foxbat are $170 per hour flying time. Bring your own plane & it is considerably cheaper.
